Field Trip Guidelines

Field trips are an important aspect of your child’s Montessori school experience. We appreciate your interest and willingness to accompany our class on these trips. Without you, field trips would not be possible!
The following are some guidelines developed to help ensure field trips go smoothly and safely:
  • Supply your insurance provider information form at least one day prior to field trip. Submit this form to Mrs. Prescott, Mrs. Smigel, or the Room Parent.
  • Be prompt for trip departures.
  • Provide a cell phone number to Mrs. Prescott, Mrs. Smigel and/or the Room Parent. Keep your phone with you and powered on throughout the field trip, unless otherwise requested. Obtain other cell phone numbers from participants for use in an emergency.
  • Review the guidelines and ask questions if you are uncertain of the field trip details.
  • A list of children will be provided for each volunteer. The children on this list are the responsibility of the volunteer. Please keep the list with you at all times and refer to it for roll calls, as needed.
  • Keep children together on the way to and from the car, taking special care in public parking lots. Be sure children remain in the car until you are ready to supervise them outside of the car.
  • Ensure all children wear seat belts.
  • When supervising children, please encourage them to observe all safety rules and display appropriate Montessori behavior.
  • Please notify Mrs. Prescott and/or Mrs. Smigel for any inappropriate behavior.
  • Follow the directions to your field trip destination. Do not detour from this route, take children to any other destination, or leave children unattended in a vehicle.
  • Do not smoke while on the field trip or while transporting children.
  • Have fun!

THANK YOU for VOLUNTEERING!
