Baby Blanket Project

Each year, the nine- to 12-year-old classes take part in a Thanksgiving Project, a way in which WMPCS students can contribute to the community and demonstrate their thankful hearts. As in previous years, Mrs. Prescott’s class will be sewing baby blankets for Beaufort County Hospital as their Thanksgiving Project.

MATERIALS: To create these gifts, we are asking students to donate two (2) yards of fleece material; one (1) yard for the top of the blanket and one (1) for the underside. Any colors of fleece are accepted, although “baby- like” shades are preferred. (It is recommended students purchase one (1) yard of patterned fleece fabric and one (1) yard of coordinating solid-colored fleece fabric.) Please include a note with the material to indicate if the material has been laundered.

VOLUNTEERS: We are in need of parent volunteers to assist students in completing this project, particularly those adept at sewing; however, novice seamstresses are also welcome and appreciated.

The project will start this week and continue until Thanksgiving break. Contact Mrs. Prescott or Ms. Toler if you are interested in volunteering.

Offer me the cover of kindness and I will blanket the world with love. -- Margaret
