MPTO Fundraiser & Class Gift Basket for Auction

RE: "Linens and Things" Themed Gift Basket

Dear Parents:

It’s time for the Montessori Parent-Teacher Organization’s annual fundraiser. Again this year, WMPCS will be having the auction Saturday, February 18, at Whitehurst Lake House in Washington. Tickets may be purchased in advance $20 per person or $35 per couple. Tickets are available in the office. See Sharon or Stacey to purchase. (Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $25.) Item preview begins at 5:00 p.m.; 6:00 p.m. heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Chrislyn Beresheim & pork BBQ by Joey Godard; the live auction begins at 6:30 p.m. with auctioneer Kirk Harris and assistant Dale Baker. (For directions and updated information, refer to the map in the sidebar to the right of this post.)

As in the past, each class is responsible for creating a gift basket to auction. Our class will be creating a gift basket with the theme: Linens and Things. Donated items may include: lush bath towels, bath and body products, high thread count bed linens, a cozy blanket, a decorative pillow, fragrant candles, etc., with donated items emphasizing FRESH, CRISP and WHITE.

We hope to procure an old trunk, an old chest of drawers, or another piece of wood furniture to use as the class contribution to the project. The class will then paint this item and use it as the "basket". If you have a trunk/ piece of furniture to donate and/or you are able to assist the class with this part of the project, please contact me ASAP — kiduba@aol.com.

In order for this "basket" to be created, your assistance is essential and appreciated. Each child is asked to donate $3 to go toward creating this "basket". We will purchase what we can with this money, but if you have any fresh, crisp, and white linen items (towels and sheets) or any other applicable items of quality you can donate or procure from businesses for the basket, please call or email me. If you can donate, good news! For every item you donate to the class basket (or to the school) you will receive a raffle entry. Raffle prizes include free tickets to the auction and a chance to win a gift card the night of the auction.

For questions about the auction, please email Ginger Gardiner glgardiner@aol.com or LeeAnn DelMonte leeann1963@yahoo.com.

Mark your calendar for the auction and thanks in advance for your help.
Margaret
